Aswan & Abu Simbel Trips from Hurghada
This private 2-day Aswan and Abu Simbel tour from Hurghada reaches southern Egypt by road and rail. A private air-conditioned car collects you from your hotel and drives you to Luxor, where you board a first-class train to Aswan. There an Egyptologist guide takes you to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple, with lunch at a restaurant between the stops. You spend the night in a 5-star hotel in Aswan, and the second day is given to the temples of Abu Simbel.
On the second day you check out early and take breakfast boxes with you to Abu Simbel, where two rock-cut temples stand side by side: the great temple of Ramesses II, built to mark his coronation and his stand at the Battle of Kadesh, and the smaller temple of his wife, Queen Nefertari. Your guide explains the Sun Festival, held twice a year around 22 February and 22 October. After lunch in Aswan you take the train back to Luxor and a private car to your hotel in Hurghada.
Entrance fees to the sights in the itinerary, the first-class train tickets between Luxor and Aswan, two lunches in Aswan and one hotel breakfast are part of the tour. Tips and extras that are not mentioned in the programme are not included.
